Peterson's Farm Goal
![]()
Our prime objective at Peterson's Farm is to provide
fresh,
naturally grown farm products to visitors.
We also want to share our knowledge
and enjoyment of small scale family farming with everyone.
We offer a fine selection of seasonal products such
as pumpkins, honey, dried sunflower heads for bird (or people) feeders and tomatoes.
Right now we have fresh eggs and honey for sale.
We enjoy giving you ideas and helpful hints on how to use our products.
We welcome visitors that want to purchase quality, pesticide and herbicide free
farm products at reasonable prices.
Peterson's Farm is an
enjoyable, educational destination for families and schools.
2011 brought us our first great grand child. She is already picking out her favorite pumpkin!
She wants you to know we have lots of eggs now and some honey for sale, too! The eggs and honey are up in the big barn on a serve yourself system. We are not doing any tours during the winter months.
Our school tours are very educational. Ettamarie is a retired Elementary Teacher (37 years in public schools). Students will
have a lesson about bees and will see bees at work in the observation hive.
We will teach the children how to feed the animals. The lessons are customized
for each age group. The bee talk emphasizes the bees as an example
of the insect world and how they help plants. Our focus is on agriculture.
Children will have a package of our sunflower seeds to take home after their spring tour.
Our tour charge is $5 per child and nothing
for the adults.
We do have a picnic area. Please instruct your group how to sort the garbage into food scraps, material that can be recycled and non-recyclable garbage.
In the spring we give a talk about bees and how their life cycle is like the butterfly's. The children also get to see and feed the animals. Each child will take home a packet of sunflower seeds we grew last summer. School groups usually spend about an hour and a half here, more if they eat lunch in the picnic area. Our field trips are learning experiences, not just a day away from school! The charge is $5 per student. If your group is large and you are using cars, be sure to carpool! School bus drivers drop the students off at the bottom of the driveway and come back for them later.
